The G2S Workout

Ground-to-standing (G2S) drills are exercises that enhance our ability to get up and down off the ground, the most famous being Turkish Get Up.

This workout will take you through 12 progressive G2S exercises that will enhance strength, mobility and cognitive function while creating a fun and engaging experience for all. Come learn how this form of exercise is being correlated with sustainable long-term health!

Note: Participants must have the capability of getting up and down off the ground unassisted.

STRONG BUT AGILE: Resiliency for life & sport

Loaded movement training (i.e., movement-based resistance training) is a critical aspect of our life that is, in the gym arenas,  far too often overlooked or never truly understood. Speed, efficiency, positional strength, mobility and stability are all maximised with Loaded Movement Training.

In this workshop,  you will learn the scientific rationale behind LMT and applications of this essential form of training for a variety of different populations, as well as valuable coaching strategies to ensure client success.

DAY 1: Engineering Health and Performance using the 4Q System

Workshop Description: Ask most aging athletes and fitness enthusiasts what 20 years of repetitive exercise and training will do to the body: Run down....overused.... broken bodies.  That's because many training programs enhance fitness, but are not sustainable for long-term health or performance.

IoM's 4Q Training Model is the first and only training model that programs exercise for both Health-based outcomes and Sustainable Performance. After this workshop, you’ll walk away with an ability to design workouts that will keep your clients healthy and performing at the highest level for years to come!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Discover IoM’ 4Q Training Model and justify how it promotes health and sustainable performance

  • Classify exercises into each of the 4 quadrants for various training adaptations including Strength, Power and Mobility

  • Build 4Q Workouts that can be immediately applied to one’s own training and to various clientele types

  • Investigate Case Studies that demonstrate 4Q Program Design for different goals

  • Practice myriad drills for Strength, Power and Mobility

  • Find out how 4Q NM Programming Model can help your business

  • Be inspired by Master Trainer’s drills selection to expand your own library

DAY 2: Bulletproof the Low Back

Workshop Description: Degradation of the intervertebral discs, which most often occurs between L4-L5 and L5-S1, often leads to herniation, with treatments varying from physical therapy to surgery. The question is what causes this degradation to begin with and how can we possibly prevent further damage?

In this workshop, we’ll arm you with Coaching and Exercise interventions to Bulletproof the Low Back and keep your client’s healthy for years to come!

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Describe the altered biomechanics that leads to dysfunction of the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex

  • Explore Hip Decoupling HpDC) Strategies designed to improve force transmission through the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex

  • Practice implementing Activation exercises called Warding Patterns which improve neural sensitivity of the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex

  • Build workouts designed to “Bulletproof the Low Back”

  • Practice HpDc, Thoracic Spine and Warding Patterns drills to expand your library

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • 12 hours of content

  • e-Manual with all practical exercises

  • 1 month FREE access to IoM App

DAY 1: 4Q MetCon Programming

In our recent history, High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T.) has been all the rage in various training circles, and for good reason considering its numerous benefits. However, excessive high intensity training comes at a cost to our long term Health, not to mention the same, repetitive stimulus becomes less effective over time. That’s where Metabolic Flexibility comes in, a training approach that promotes Variable Metabolic Conditioning to enhance our ability to switch efficiently between our different energy systems to meet the demands of the various tasks in life and sport.

In other words, you’ll walk away with an ability to develop Metabolic Conditioning programs for optimal health and sustainable performance.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Discover IoM’s 4Q Training Model and justify how it promotes health and sustainable performance
• Classify exercises into each of the 4 quadrants to enhance metabolic flexibility
• Build 4Q MetCon workouts that can be immediately applied to one’s own training and to various clientele types
• Find out how 4Q MetCon Programming Model can help your business
• Be inspired by Master Trainer’s drills selection to expand your own library

DAY 2: Deadstarts: The missing link in Strength Training

Workshop Description: When you think of deadlifting, you probably think of picking up a heavy barbell off the ground and lifting it to hip height. While this has a myriad of benefits to our overall strength, there is something really important missing from a typical deadlifting protocol: Many “Deadlifts” in real life demand moving a Sub-maximal load or our own mass (Bodyweight) from variable postures and moving mass in variable directions.

Think of lifting a sleeping child out of a crib, shifting the groceries out of the deep part of the car trunk, or getting up from a lying position. In this workshop we’ll explore techniques related to the idea of Deadstarts, including Deadlifting, Deadshifting and Ground-to-Standing, all which are designed to help our clients develop the functional strength needed for many life and sporting endeavours.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Define Deadstarts and justify their need in a Strength Training Protocol

  • Practice implementing various Deadlifting and Deadshifting exercises, including regressions and progressions

  • Practice implementing various Ground-to-Standing exercises, including regressions and progressions

  • Build Deadstart Workouts that can be immediately applied to one’s own training and to various clientele types

  • Investigate Case Studies that demonstrate Deadstarts as part of a Strength and Conditioning Program
